Bertie
Bertie came to Better Days Animal League with her mom and 2 sisters.  It appears that they were left in the mountains in the middle of winter and were born in the wild. Bertie's mom managed to keep herself and the puppies alive even in harsh weather conditions by building a den and forging for food.

They all came to Better Days when the puppies were about 3 months old. The puppies never had any human contact and were wild.  Over time they learned that Love and Trust could be found at BetterDays - and eventually learned their names and the sound of the voices that took care of them.  They were adjusting to life in the shelter and bonding with humans and animals - such a great feeling to see these sweet sweet girls come to life and know they were loved.  Bertie's mom got adopted, leaving just Bertie at the shelter with her mom and sisters all in their new homes.  But along came her new dad, who was not daunted by Bertie's shyness - we knew that if given the chance she would have a GREAT life with her new dad and new older brother, Lange.  And boy does she ever!

Updates from her new dad with her progress at home:
Week2:
She has settled in so well. She demolishes about two toys per day, loves to run in the yard with Lange, who is certainly getting more exercise now, and just seems to be a happy, easygoing puppy. What a difference a few weeks makes!
Week3:
Attached are a few pics of Bertie and Lange on the deck enjoying a sunny day together. Things continue to go well here. I'm hoping to do away with the crate in a few weeks, as she is doing so well with house training!

We love you Bertie - have a great life, as we know you will!!
