Ella
The day Ella came home with me is one of my favorite memories! I knew that this was the dog I was meant to help, and Better Days let me do that! Ella wouldn’t look at anyone, didn’t bark, didn’t play, smile, or move around. She was anxious and stressed. Her first vet trip resulted in surgery to clean out a cut. The procedure revealed she had been used as target practice at some point, and will forever carry the shrapnel to prove it.
Coming home…
Now, (two months later) she is healed, and a whole new dog! She loves to play when I get home, has now put on weight, and is crazy about food (fried chicken and hot dogs are a close tie for favorite)! She is about to graduate from her first obedience class, and getting ready to start the second. She is now housebroken and had graduated from needing to use the crate at night! She is always up for a walk or run, and has found her voice! She is crazy about kids! I’ll be continuing her training in hopes that she has a future as a therapy dog!
Ella is fantastic! I can’t imagine life without her now. She has made dog lovers out of the most unlikely, and gotten me moving around! She has put balance back into my life knowing that I need to be home to take care of her, and that exercise is not optional! She has inspired others to adopt, and has made me a better person. When my living situation allows it, there’s no doubt Ella will be getting a sibling. My only regret is that I could only adopt one!
Ella Now…

To everyone at Better Days…thank you so much for what you do! You have taken on a thankless job, yet you make a difference in so many lives! Think exponentially! For however many dogs you place, the entire family benefits, as well as the people they know! Keep up the great work!
