3rd Annual Dubs & Dogs Car Show

48 Volkswagens participated, in both air cooled and water cooled classes. Vehicles included 1951 Dune Buggy, 1957 Baja Bug, 1964 21 Window Bus, 1964 Beetle, 1967 Notchback, 1973 Thing, 1981 Rabbit, with several later year Jettas and Golfs. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies were presented in each class, in addition to Top Ten plaques as determined by participant voting.
The weather was purrrrr-fect!!! Daniel’s Vision provided live music for everyone’s enjoyment, Pap’s Dog Stop was serving up their delicious hot dogs and sausage, plus Jan Zell Wines had several of their fine wines available to sample.
Sprint surprised BDAL by initiating a Text to Donate campaign, to donate please text “BetterDays” to 41444.
Special thanks to event sponsors Fort Loudon Automotive, Liberty Tire & Auto, Cooker’s V-Dubs, Denny’s Garage, Casper Family, Mazone’s Repair Service, Sharrett VW, Auto Alternatives, and Vane’ Pinstriping. Attendees were delighted to win many wonderful raffle prizes including donations from Butterfly Gardens, Food Lion, Nuzzella’s Pizza, Milky Way, Lincoln Way Pizza, Bruster’s Ice Cream, Renae’s Furry Friends, and Red Heifer Winery.
Better Days sincerely appreciates Dustin and Donna O’Hara for coordinating the annual event, and the assistance of the volunteers at our Fort Loudon Thrift Store in setting up/breaking down. Many thanks to all the participants, volunteers, and especially the community for their support and “paw”-some shelter supply donations in making Dubs & Dogs a successful fundraising event year after year.
